Walk New Hampshire is a program designed to promote walking in New Hampshire. The goal is to engage children and adults in walking and raise awareness of walking as a part of a healthy lifestyle. This year, Walk NH has a new supporter in Oakhurst Dairy. Oakhurst Dairy announced its “Living Natural Goodness” initiative at a special event in New Hampshire, encouraging physical activity and healthy eating habits. Oakhurst has partnered with Boys and Girls Clubs across the state and the Foundation for Healthy Communities to motivate and encourage kids and their families to make exercise and fitness a regular part of their daily lives through participation in Walk New Hampshire. Children from the Boys and Girls Clubs will form teams and track their walking mileage, with each club setting a goal of logging enough miles to walk virtually the length of the state – 190 miles. Oakhurst will provide logbooks and posters to help the kids involve their families and friends as they keep track of miles. Oakhurst will also make a monetary contribution to each chartered Boys and Girls Club that reaches its walking mileage goal.
