Walk New Hampshire
Week 2009 really got people moving! We're still tallying up
the walkers and miles, but we can already tell the numbers
have surpassed last year. We had beautiful weather for our week-long event.
IMPORTANT FOR WALK ORGANIZERS! Please fax or e-mail your Walk Event Report Form. Providing your event’s total number of participants and miles walked will help Walk NH publicize the success of this statewide effort and perhaps “move” other NH residents to start walking regularly! New Hampshire First Lady, Dr. Susan Lynch, is chairwoman and long-time supporter of Walk New Hampshire's efforts to promote physical activity. Read Dr. Lynch's op-ed, urging kids and families to take a healthy step forward. Dr. Susan Lynch, and her golden retriever puppy, Katie, walked at Beech Street School in Manchester on the first day of Walk NH Week. Mayor Frank Guinta was there, too, along with Manchester Monarchs mascot Max, who led the group of children, teachers and City Year service volunteers on the 1-mile route. Photos are below, and you can check out our Walk NH Week 2009 photo album of other events during the week! |
